About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Jurnal Manajemen Sistem Informasi (JMASIF) is dedicated to advancing theoretical knowledge and managerial practices in the fields of information systems planning, digital infrastructure governance, enterprise architecture, and applied IT solutions. The journal addresses how organizations across public administration, commercial enterprises, educational institutions, and healthcare sectors leverage information systems to optimize operational performance, drive digital transformation, and foster strategic decision-making.

JMASIF welcomes original empirical research articles, review studies, framework evaluations, and case studies. The primary research clusters include, but are not limited to, the following themes:

• Information Systems Governance & IT Strategy: IT alignment with strategic business goals, IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF), risk management, digital audit, and regulatory compliance in enterprise environments.
• Enterprise Architecture & System Integration: Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), microservices, API management, cloud computing adoption, ERP/CRM implementations, and legacy system modernization.
• Business Intelligence, Analytics & Decision Support: Executive information systems, data warehousing, business process analytics, dashboard development, predictive modeling, and data-driven decision support systems (DSS).
• Information Systems Security, Privacy & Continuity: Cybersecurity management, information security policy implementation, ISO 27001 standards, disaster recovery planning, data privacy regulations, and threat assessment in organizational contexts.
• Digital Transformation & E-Government: Smart city architectures, public sector e-filing and e-services, digital administration tools, social impact of IT, and organizational change management during digital migration.
• User Adoption, Human Factors & HCI in IS: Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), UTAUT, user experience (UX) evaluation for managerial dashboards, organizational learning, and human-centered systems engineering.
• Internet of Things (IoT) & Applied Automation in IS Management: IoT dashboard governance, automated control and monitoring systems, sensor data integration, and smart facility management systems.

Authorship Criteria & Standards

Authorship in JMASIF is strictly reserved for individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the published work. In alignment with COPE guidelines and the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) framework, all listed authors must meet four standard criteria: (1) substantial contributions to research conception, system design, or data collection and analysis; (2) drafting or critically revising the paper; (3) approving the final version for publication; and (4) agreeing to be accountable for all aspects of the research. Language Policy

JMASIF accepts and publishes manuscripts written in English or Indonesian. Every published article must be accompanied by a bilingual abstract (both English and Indonesian) to maximize international discoverability while maintaining regional academic relevance. Authors are required to write in clear, academically rigorous language and adhere to the official JMASIF manuscript template.

Peer Review Process & Workflow

All submitted manuscripts must represent original, unpublished work that is not under consideration elsewhere. JMASIF enforces a rigorous double-blind peer review workflow managed through Open Journal Systems (OJS):

   Initial Desk Screening

   The handling editor evaluates scope alignment, template compliance, document completeness, and the 4 Mandatory Declarations (AI Usage, CRediT taxonomy, Funding, and Conflict of Interest).

2. 2
   Plagiarism & Integrity Screening

   Submissions are screened using iThenticate, Turnitin, and Copyleaks. Manuscripts exceeding an overall 20% similarity index are returned or rejected outright.

   Double-Blind Peer Review

   Anonymized manuscripts are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers from our reviewer team. Author and reviewer identities remain strictly confidential throughout.

   Editorial Decision

   The Editor-in-Chief issues a formal decision based on reviewer evaluations: Accept Submission, Revisions Required (Minor), Resubmit for Review (Major), Resubmit Elsewhere, or Decline Submission.

   Revision & Re-Evaluation

   Authors submit revised files alongside a point-by-point response matrix within specified deadlines for editorial or reviewer re-assessment.

   Production & Publication

   Accepted manuscripts undergo professional copyediting, galley typesetting, DOI assignment via Crossref, and online publishing.

JMASIF operates an efficient review timeline: initial screening is completed within 5 days, peer review takes approximately 14 to 21 days, submission-to-acceptance averages 30 days, and online publication occurs within 10 days post-acceptance. Article landing pages explicitly feature complete genesis history (Received, Revised, Accepted, Published).

Special Issue Policy

JMASIF periodically hosts Special Issues on emerging topics in information systems management, enterprise digital architecture, and AI-driven business intelligence. Guest Editors oversee evaluation adhering strictly to the journal's standard double-blind peer review policies. Special issue proposals may be submitted to the Editorial Office.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

JMASIF recognizes the utility of AI tools in academic writing while upholding strict transparency:

• Transparent Disclosure: Authors must state before the References section whether Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Grammarly AI) were used during manuscript preparation, indicating the software version and specific scope of use.
• AI Authorship Preclusion: Non-human software cannot be credited as an author or co-author under COPE guidelines.
• Author Ownership & Integrity: Authors remain fully responsible for the factual accuracy, citations, data integrity, and originality of their published work.
• Permitted Scope: AI usage is limited to language editing, proofreading, translation support, and formatting enhancements.
• Prohibited Use: AI tools must not fabricate data, invent citations, or manipulate research results.
• Reviewer Confidentiality: Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscript content to public AI platforms.

Publication Frequency & Scheduling

Jurnal Manajemen Sistem Informasi (JMASIF) is published twice a year (biannually) in April and October.

Open Access Statement

JMASIF is an immediate Gold Open Access journal. All published articles are freely available online immediately upon publication without subscription fees or paywalls, in accordance with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI).

Article Processing Charges (APC) & Fee Policy

JMASIF operates an author-pays Open Access model supported by Article Processing Charges (APC). Initial manuscript submission and peer review are free of charge; fees apply only upon formal article acceptance.

Copyright and Licensing Terms

Authors retain full copyright of their published work and grant the journal first publication rights under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Journal History & Development Timeline

• Inaugural Launch (2022): Jurnal Manajemen Sistem Informasi (JMASIF) was founded in early 2022 by Divisi Riset, Lembaga Mitra Solusi Teknologi Informasi (L-MSTI), releasing Volume 1 Number 1 (April 2022) and Volume 1 Number 2 (October 2022) with foundational research on e-filing systems, decision support tools, and management information systems.
• Steady Publication Pace (2023–2024): Successfully published Volume 2 (2023) and Volume 3 (2024) across regular April and October schedules, covering smart room control systems, social assistance data management, and digital transformation in public and commercial sectors.
• Systematic Expansion (2025): Published Volume 4 Number 1 (April 2025) and Volume 4 Number 2 (October 2025), highlighting digital transformation in business, public administration, and logistics systems (Delivery Force).
• Continuity in Volume 5 (2026): Released Volume 5 Number 1 (April 2026) and Volume 5 Number 2 (October 2026), reinforcing rigorous editorial practices and DOI metadata assignment via Crossref.
• National Accreditation – SINTA 5 (July 2026): Pursuant to the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Science, and Technology No. 355/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026 dated 24 July 2026 and Letter No. 862/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026 dated 28 July 2026, Jurnal Manajemen Sistem Informasi (JMASIF) was officially awarded SINTA 5 national accreditation, valid from Volume 3 (2024) through Volume 7 (2028).
• OJS 3.4 Infrastructure Upgrade (2026): Migrated to Open Journal Systems (OJS) version 3.4.0-11, introducing a modern responsive design, enhanced security protocols, and structured metadata standards.
